Looking to eat curry with your kids in Koriyama? This is the place! We found a family-friendly spot with a kids’ menu!

Eating out with kids—you wonder where to go, right?
Tatami seating? Kids’ high chairs?
As a parent of a young child, I’ll introduce restaurants with kids’ menus where you can visit with peace of mind.
1. “Indo-Nepalese Cuisine Manushi” with tatami seating and kids’ high chairs
An authentic curry restaurant located in Amuse Park, Asaka-machi, Koriyama City. The interior is spacious and bright, with both table seating and tatami seating. Weekend lunches get crowded, so if you would like tatami seating, reservations are recommended. You can make a reservation here.

The kids’ set lunch (¥650) includes mild chicken curry, half naan, salad, and lassi with free refills! Manushi’s chicken curry features generous chunks of tender, fall-apart chicken, and it’s nicely sweet—the kind of flavor kids love. The half naan is quite large despite being a half portion, making it a hearty set. There’s also a kids’ set at dinner, and the restaurant is popular with families at both lunch and dinner.

Its popularity comes not only from taste and value, but also from the staff’s warm hospitality. The manager, Mr. Goda, previously worked at a famous long-established ryokan, where he learned the spirit of omotenashi. The other staff all love children, too. They’re always smiling, and their smiles are contagious. Being adjacent to Amuse Park, it’s also great for a meal after playing with your kids. The kids’ set is available for children up to elementary school age.

2. 郡山市香久池「ニュータージマハール」
“ニュータージマハール” is located along Route 49 in 郡山市香久池 and serves authentic Pakistani cuisine.
The kids’ set here is 500 yen! At an affordable price, children can enjoy authentic curry.

The set includes mild butter chicken curry, naan, salad, and a drink.
It’s made even sweeter than the usual mild butter chicken curry—just the sweetness kids love. The chicken is simmered until tender and falls apart, so no cutting is needed. The ingredients are simple—tomatoes, cashew nuts, cream, milk, etc.—making it an authentic curry that’s gentle on the body.
There are no distinctive strong flavors often associated with foreign cuisines, so children can enjoy it. The naan is, of course, authentic naan baked in a “tandoor” oven. Smaller and cuter than regular naan, it’s an easy-to-finish size that puts parents at ease. You can choose from several drinks such as orange juice, lassi, and mango lassi. In addition to the kids’ set, there are plenty of menu items labeled “recommended for children,” so sharing with your child is a good idea, too.

It’s also nice that kids’ chairs are available. How about trying authentic Pakistani cuisine with your child in the spacious, bright dining area?
